Jayda Cheaves Issues Apology To Designer After She’s Called Out For Stealing Swimsuit Design

It appears that Jayda Cheaves has apologized to the designer of Eau Noir Swim after she was called out for stealing a design for a new swimsuit release for Waydamin Brand.

Tuesday, Jayda was accused of stealing swimwear designs in a series of tweets, causing a viral response from many X users who defended the independent designer. The social media user who initiated the thread even noted that Jayda had been previously paid to promote the design on Instagram back in 2020.

A social media user also shared screenshots of the designer’s Instagram DMs, revealing a lengthy apology from Jayda’s IG account, where she acknowledged using Eau Noir Swim’s design.

“I realized you weren’t selling the bikinis anymore since 2021 so l didn’t think it would be a big deal since there’s plenty other brands with that same concept,” she wrote.

”I definitely understand how this made you feel because Ive been a victim of things like this before & I’d hate to not go about this the right way without taking the accountability as a black female business owner as well. I say all that to say I will NOT be selling the swimsuit that was inspired by your company.”

“As i sat with this issue i realized just because this happens to me daily doesn’t make it right for me to do the same whether it’s been years, months, or days. Imma take the L, stop the production, and get back in the booth with my design team. Simple. I take pride in always doing good business.”
